Oxford College to host lecture on the virtues of violence

Oxford College will host a lecture by Kathleen Coleman Friday, entitles The Virtues of Violence: Gladiators, Bests and Public Executions in Ancient Rome.

 

Coleman is a professor of Latin at Harvard University; she is a leading expert on the culture of imperial Rome and one Roman gladiatorial spectacle. The lecture begins at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 27, at the Tarbutton Performing Arts Center on the campus of Oxford College.

 

Admission is free and open to the public. Parking is free as well and visitor parking is available on campus.
