The Newton County School System will hold a secondary teacher job fair from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on March 14 at Eastside High School. Principals and representatives from each of the school system's middle and high schools will be on hand to interview prospective employees and answer any questions applicants might have.
According to Dennis Carpenter, associate superintendent for human resourses, in preparation for the 2009-2010 school year, the school system is seeking special education teachers with clear renewable certificates and "highly qualified" teachers in middle and high school grades - especially in the areas of secondary math and science.
Newton County School System offers highly competitive salaries and benefits, excellent facilities, and a safe working environment. In addition, Newton County offers enthusiastic community support for its schools, has a stable economic base and affortable housing.
"Newton County School System has a lot to offer," said Carpenter. "Newton County is a great place to work and live. This job fair will be an excellent opportunity for teachers to meet and interview with school principals, learn more information about the school system and the local community and obtain information on current job openings and requirements."
According to Carpenter, no registration is required for admission to the job fair; however, each teacher is strongly encouraged to bring multiple copies of his/her resume.
