COVINGTON, Ga. - All Newton County schools will release students early on Friday, Sept.1, for parent/teacher conferences.

Elementary and Theme School students will be dismissed at 11:15 a.m.; high school students will be released at 12:15 p.m. and middle school students will be dismissed at 1:15 p.m.

Lunch will be served before students are dismissed and all students who ride school buses home in the afternoons will be transported to their normal bus stops.

The Newton County School System recommends that all parents schedule a parent/teacher conference to discuss the academic progress of their child/children.

All Newton County Schools and the central office will be closed on Monday, Sept. 4 in observance of Labor Day. Students should report back to school on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
