The children at First Presbyterian Learning Center turned into builders and architects on Friday.
Cardboard boxes were the building material of choice, and the children crafted skyscrapers, buildings and tunnels before getting to the really fun part, the demolition, according to Deana Graham, program director.
The center uses The Creative Curriculum and for September focused on buildings. The preschoolers learned about what an architect does, met a builder and built model buildings among other activities.
Families collected boxes for the project on Friday, with the biggest boxes coming courtesy of Jessica Strickland of Cowan and Cowan Appliances. Her son, Jordan, is a student in the program.
