Oxford home-schooled student Flannery Peay earned a silver medallion for scoring 93 to 99 percent on the 19th annual National Mythology Exam. The 6th grader joined over 10,000 students in grades 3-9 from the United States, Canada and Australia in completing the test which is sponsored by the American Classical league's standing committee. Flannery is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Austin Peay.


Jamil Gooden, of Covington, was graduated from McCallie School, Chattanooga, Tenn., on May 17. Jamil is the son of Mykal Gooden and will be attending The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. McCallie, a college preparatory school for boys, is considered one of the nation's top independent schools.
