Area residents graduate from Georgia Southwestern State

Four Newton County students were among the 400 who graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University during the Fall 2013 Commencement Ceremony.

The ceremony was held Dec. 14 in the university’s Convocation Hall at the Student Success Center.

Priscilla Jones of Mansfield graduated with a bachelor of science degree in psychology.

Jessica Lange of Covington graduated with a bachelor of busniess administration degree in management.

Ogochukwu Ojiaku of Covington graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science in Nursing.

Erica Reed of Covington graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of busniess administration degree in management.

The commencement speaker was Rob Watts, interim president at Georgia Perimeter College.

Georgia Southwestern State University is located in Americus and is a public four-year unit of the University System of Georgia, with nearly 3,000 students.

Georgia Southwestern offers professional programs of study as well as programs in the arts, humanities and sciences, and graduate programs in business, computer science, education, English and nursing.
