For the seventh year, student artists in Newton County are having their talents showcased at the True Colours Visual Art Exhibit at the Newton County Library. Art by elementary, middle and high school students will be on display and at an opening reception from 5 p.m. 7 p.m. on March 1. The community will have a chance to meet the young artists, thanks to sponsorship from the Arts Association in Newton County, Newton County Schools, OCHO, Inc. and Friends of the Library. The art will be on display through March. "The goal of the exhibit is to raise awareness of the quality of visual arts created in our classrooms and to underscore the importance of art in our schools," according to a press release from the arts association. Artwork can be viewed at any time during library hours.
