Newton County Sheriff Deputies responded to a call Dec. 9 at the McDonald’s restaurant on Crowell Road after employees discovered a charity coin collection box had been stolen and another had been damaged. According to the report, the boxes, which were located in the drive–through window, were stolen between 1:30 and 4:30 a.m. The value of each box is estimated to be about $100.
