Trucks stolen in separate incidents

COVINGTON, Ga. – Investigators with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office are looking into the theft of two commercial trucks in separate incidents this week.

In one incident, Deputy Stephen Huenke responded to a report of a theft at Abba Storage Sunday morning. According to the NCSO incident report, when he arrived at the scene, he met with the owner who told him the lock box for the U-Haul keys had been stolen.

The owner reportedly told Huenke the security wires had been cut and the back window was open. In addition to the key box, a 2005 orange and white GMC box truck with Arizona tag AB69045 was also reported stolen.

In the second incident, a white 2008 Frieghtliner with Georgia tag EDM912 was reported stolen from a residence on Oakwood Lane Monday morning.

According to the report, the complainant told Deputy Luke Hanes the theft occurred between 4:30 a.m. and 8 a.m.
