COVINGTON, Ga. – Authorities are looking for whoever broke into a car and stole two purses at the Turner Lake Complex Saturday afternoon.

According to a Covington Police Department incident report, the victim said she parked her car at around 1:40 p.m. Nov. 5 and locked it before going into the gym area. She told police that when she returned just after 3 p.m. and went to retrieve her purse it was missing.

The purse reportedly contained cash, bank cards and various forms of ID. The victim told officers her daughter’s purse was also stolen. The officer observed that the driver’s side door lock had been punched out.

According to the report, the victim contacted police later to report that she had been notified by her bank that one of her cards had been used for two transactions totaling $200 at approximately 3:18 p.m.
