Police seek suspects in gun store break-in attempt

COVINGTON, Ga. – Investigators are seeking information and suspects in an attempted gun store break-in early Monday morning.

According to a Covington Police Department incident report, officers responded to Shots Fired at 8175 Washington St. at 12:44 a.m. Dec. 10 on a burglar alarm.

When they arrived, police found the front glass door had been broken and the power meter in the back taken out of the box. According to the report, the building was cleared and no property was stolen.

A CPD spokesman said the suspect did not gain entry into the building.

Surveillance video reportedly showed one male wearing a dark hooded jacket, black pants, black boots and a black mask covering his face getting out of a dark-colored vehicle, possibly an SUV.  The suspect was also carrying a medium size bag with a shoulder strap.
