Pistol stolen from truck

COVINGTON, Ga. – Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) investigators are looking for the person who stole a pistol out of a pick-up truck over the weekend.

According to a NCSO incident report, a deputy responded to an address on Summer Walk Drive Saturday morning in reference to a theft from a vehicle. On arrival, the deputy was told by the resident that sometime between 11 p.m. May 19 and 9:25 a.m. May 20, somebody stole a Glock Model 42 .380 Auto pistol from the center console of his truck. A bicycle was also taken from the yard.

According to the report, the bike was located in a yard in the same neighborhood. The residents there told the deputy they saw the bike in their yard but did not know how it got there. It was returned to its owner.

There are no suspects in the incident.
