McDonough man jailed on warrant, drug charges

COVINGTON, Ga. – Deputies with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office arrested a McDonough man on an outstanding warrant and drug charges Saturday after responding to a report of loitering.

According to a NCSO incident report, deputies were dispatched to the Oak Hill Texaco at 3300 Highway 81 just before 2:30 p.m. Feb. 10 on a report of a male at the location loitering and asking people for a ride. The male was on a motorcycle and reportedly appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

When they got to the scene, deputies made contact with 30-year-old Jessie Hurley. According to the report, after Hurley was identified, it was determined he had an outstanding warrant out of Henry County.

After placing Hurley under arrest, deputies reportedly found drugs in his possession. In addition to the warrant, he was also charged with possession of cocaine.
