COVINGTON, Ga. – An unidentified male raised his shirt to show another man he was carrying a handgun during an argument at the landfill Friday morning, authorities said.

According to Newton County Sheriff’s Office incident report, a deputy responded to the landfill on Lower River Road April 20 after a landfill employee called to report the argument.

A white male with brown hair in a long ponytail reportedly showed the handgun to another customer during the argument. A NCSO spokesman said he had cut off another driver at the landfill scale. According to the spokesman, the weapon was never pulled out of its holster.

According to the report, the subject was wearing a black shirt, camouflage shorts and a lime green hat. His wallet was attached by a chain. The vehicle was described in the report as a grey Chevrolet Silverado.
