UPDATE (June 12, 11:55 a.m.): Sgt. Brandon Sellers with the Morgan County Sheriff's Office said a court order has been signed to obtain data off Molly E. Hilsman's phone to help in locating the 38-year-old woman last seen Memorial Day.
Sellers, the criminal investigation division supervisor for MCSO, said Hilsman's car was located by MCSO Friday in Covington but was left over the weekend to see if she would return. Once she did not return, the car was impounded by Covington Police Department.
It is unknown at this time who Hilsman was going to meet at Piedmont Park on Memorial Day or if she ever made it there, he said.
"We don't know who those friends may or may not have been," Sellers said. "She was kind of a loner. Her nearest friend that her mother knows about is a girl that lives in Arkansas and we've been in contact with her."
MCSO has pinged her phone once and has requested access to ping the phone again. A court order was signed Tuesday to retrieve data off the phone and investigators are waiting on Verizon to respond to that order.
"We're not at a dead end, but there's no gleaming lead right now either," Sellers said.
