House, truck shot at in dispute

COVINGTON, Ga.-The Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) responded to a report of shots fired at a Covington house early Tuesday morning.

According to the NCSO report, a deputy responded to the home on Branchwood Drive April 18 at 1:17 a.m. where he spoke with the complainant who advised that someone had fired several rounds into his vehicle and his house. The suspect reportedly then left the area on foot.

The deputy at the scene reportedly observed a bullet hole in the front of a Ford F-450 and two bullet holes in the front of the house.

A NCSO spokesman said that no arrests have been made in the shooting. He said the incident stemmed from a dispute on April 14.
