CPD identifies suspect, victims in Wednesday night double homicide

COVINGTON, Ga. - The Covington Police Department has released the names of the suspect and three victims in Wednesday night's double homicide on Usher Street in Covington

According to a CPD news release, the incident was domestic-related and escalated into shots being fired. 

As officers were working the scene, a male - identified as Cedric Bernard Cook, 37 - walked out of the woods next to the house and admitted involvement in the incident, according to the release. 

Two female victims were found fatally injured and one male victim was life-flighted to Grady Memorial Hospital. 

The first female victim is identified as Tijuana Cook, 41. The second female victim is identified as Michelle Olivia Dickerson, 23. Dickerson is Cook's daughter, according to the release. The male victim is identified as Theodore Betton, of Conyers. Betton was shot in the abdomen and arm.  

According to the release, Cedric Cook and Tijuana Cook are married and Cedric Cook is Dickerson's step-father. Betton is Dickerson's boyfriend. 

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victims of this tragic, senseless event," CPD Capt. Ken Malcom said.
