OXFORD, Ga. – A Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) deputy on patrol in Oxford found the body of a deceased male lying on the ground in the city’s cemetery Sunday morning.

According to the NCSO incident report, the body of 58-year-old Jon Gerard Lewandowski was found between two flat grave stones by Deputy Christopher Allen a little after 10:30 July 9.

Newton County Coroner Tommy Davis said the body appeared to have been in place several hours and determined the manner of death to be natural.
