COVINGTON, Ga. – An 86-year-old Roswell man was reunited with family in Covington yesterday, one day after being reported missing.

According to a Covington Police Department incident report, the elderly man went into a Hospital Drive doctor’s office Tuesday morning and announced: “I’m back.”

A person at the office asked the man if he had an appointment and asked to see his driver’s license to confirm that he did not.  The man reportedly appeared confused and the staff member called 911.

When police arrived and asked the man how he had gotten to the office, he told them he had driven. When they checked the tag on his green Ford truck it reportedly came back attached to a missing person BOLO (be on the lookout) from Roswell. After the BOLO was confirmed police escorted the man to the Piedmont Newton Hospital emergency room for medical evaluation.

According to the report, Roswell police arrived at the hospital to take custody of the man’s truck and wait with him until his daughter arrived to take him home.
