This story will be updated as needed.

Georgia Department of Transportation officials said the crash involved multiple vehicles.

It happened at 6:48 p.m., about a mile west of the Monroe/Monticello (Georgia 11) exit.

GDOT has shifted its estimated times to clear the crash, saying shortly after 7:30 it didn’t expect the road to reopen in either direction until 10:30 p.m.

Drivers are urged to find an alternate route between the Monroe/Monticello and Stanton Springs Parkway exits.
