CONYERS - A Covington man was killed in a crash with a SUV on Flat Shoals Road Tuesday morning.

Around 8 a.m., Charles Leonard Haug, 44, of Covington was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Flat Shoals Road near Hunting Creek Drive in Conyers, according to Georgia State Patrol.

Rubi Palacios-Rodriguez, 31, of Conyers was driving a Ford Explorer Sport Trac heading east on Flat Shoals Road.

Palacios-Rodriguez turned left and the motorcycle struck the front of the Ford. Haug was ejected and killed. Palacios-Rodriguez was injured and transported to Rockdale Medical Center.

The GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is conducting a follow up investigation, according to a GSP spokesperson.
