SOCIAL CIRCLE, Ga. - The lip-sync challenge hitting law enforcement agencies across the country had Social Circle police rocking like it was the 1980s.

Members of the Police Department performed a lip sync of John Cougar Mellencamp's "Small Town" - fitting for a place billing itself as Georgia's Greatest Little Town - and released it on Facebook on Saturday.

As part of the video, officers interact with Social Circle citizens and people who work in the city.

Police departments across the country have been producing lip-sync videos and challenging each other to top them. The Monroe Department of Public Safety produced one to "Uptown Funk," which had more than 160,000 views on YouTube as of Monday. The Monroe police officers and firefighters challenged their police brethren in Loganville, Snellville, Social Circle and Winder when the video dropped July 8.

Social Circle's challenge was to the Canton and Covington police departments and to the Walton County Sheriff's Office. None had posted videos as of noon Monday.
