A portion of Emory Street is closed due to instability in the sidewalk.

The City of Covington told The Covington News that the portion of Emory Street from Highway 278 to Stone Mountain Street is indefinitely closed. While construction was being done in the area, workers uncovered a portion of the sidewalk that needed repairing. City Hall remains open.

There is currently no timetable on when it will reopen.
