COVINGTON, Ga. - State Route 81 will close at the railroad crossing just north of the QuikTrip on US 278 on Tuesday, Sept. 30. CSX has informed Georgia DOT of a need to close the crossing for maintenance. They anticipate work will be complete by close of business on Thursday, Oct. 2.

A detour will be running SR 81 south to US 278, US 278 east to Elm St. NE, Elm St. NE north to Herring St. NW, Herring St. NW west to SR 81.
