The CW's "Vampire Diaries"  has been picked up for a full season, according to Entertainment's Weekly Web site. The show, which is filmed around the Atlanta area and has had many shoots in Covington, was originally scheduled for a 12-episode run, with an additional 9 episodes to be picked up if the ratings were good. According to EW.com, the show had The CW’s best-ever premiere ratings and Reuter's reports that the show is averaging 4.5 million viewers, making it the network's most-watched show.
