A tractor-trailer carrying recycled carpet buckled in the middle when making a turn onto the Bypass Road from Ga. Highway 36 at around 5:30 a.m. this morning.
According to witnesses, the truck hit the curve when turning and instead of flexing in the middle to accommodate the weight of the load it buckled under the amount of the cargo it was carrying and crumpled in the middle.
The carpet had to be loaded onto other trucks to be hauled away before the trailer could be moved from the road.
