The Covington Regional Ballet will stage the holiday classic "The Nutcracker" on Saturday and Sunday at Porter Hall in Newton High School.

The ballet, made up of youth from Newton and surrounding counties, has staged "The Nutcracker" for nine years.

The production is presented by The Arts Association in Newton County and sponsored by BB&T, William H. Mathieu, Stites & Harbison and Wagner Service Solutions.

Shows are at 7 p.m. Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $20, $15 for senior citizens and $5 for students and can be purchased online at www.newtoncountyarts.org or by calling (770) 786-8188. Tickets can also be purchased at the arts association at 1106 Washington St.
