A Covington man was shot Friday in Conyers while he was visiting an apartment complex allegedly to sell shoes.

The 52-year-old black male from Covington was reportedly visiting the Bridlewood Apartment complex on Friday. Deputies found the victim conscious in a briar patch outside of Building X of the complex on Sigman Road shortly after 9 p.m. He was flown to an Atlanta area hospital for gunshot wounds in the back and foot.

Although there were multiple shots fired at the victim as he was fleeing, none of the bullets reportedly entered the nearby apartments. No one else was injured in the incident.

The victim was still in stable condition as of Monday.

Investigators are still looking for the suspect.
