Covington resident Christopher Charles Glass, 23, died in a car wreck Saturday evening when his 1999 Jeep Wrangler went off the road and hit a tree off Brown Bridge Road near Riverstone Parkway.

The crash was reported at 8:04 p.m., but the exact cause and time of the crash hasn't been determined, said Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright on Tuesday. Glass had been reported missing Friday; he was wearing his seatbelt.

There were no other people in the vehicle, Wright said.

Riverstone Parkway is located just east of the Brown Bridge and Crowell road intersection.

Four other crashes took place in Newton County during the long holiday weekend, but no injuries were reported. Troopers handed out 92 traffic citations in Newton County.
