Council approves meeting time resolution
Covington-City-Hall - WEB

The Covington City Council will meet at a new time going forward, after a change to the city’s charter was enacted and a resolution as passed Monday night.

The council removed its regular meeting time from the city charter and specified the meeting schedule would be scheduled by a resolution annually.

The resolution specifies that the meeting will start at 6:30 p.m., with each meeting following a work session at 5:30 p.m.

The council approved the resolution, which listed all of the meeting dates for the remainder of 2017. Meeting dates are as follows:

March 6 and 20

April 3 and 17

May 1 and 15

June 5 and 19

July 3 and 17

Aug. 7 and 21

Sept. 6 and 18

Nov. 6 and 20

Dec. 4 and 18

Prior to the charter change and resolution, the council met at 5:30 p.m. for a work session, with the meeting starting at 6 p.m. The change allows for longer work sessions prior to each meeting.

Both the work sessions and council meetings are open to the public. The work sessions are conducted in City Hall’s conference room and the meetings take place in the council’s meeting room at City Hall.
