Students of Newton County schools are invited to celebrate the start of the upcoming school year at the annual Back 2 School Downtown Covington Block Party on Aug. 1.Hosted by Main Street Covington, Washington Street Community Center and over 30 Back 2 School 2010 partners, the free event will be held on the square between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Registration will begin in the Newton County Historic Courthouse at 2:30 p.m. Students who signed up will receive an arm band which will allow them to receive school supplies that include basic items like notebooks, pocket folders, pens, pencils and
