The Covington Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday night at 6119 Pine Needle Drive.

According to CPD Captain Craig Treadwell, a 13-year-old male was shot in the leg in “what we believe to be a drive by shooting," at around 9 p.m.

Three arrests were made, and the suspects were all charged wtih aggravated assault, discharging a firearm in the city and reckless conduct.

The arrested indivudals are James Russell Leaks, 21 of Harmony Place, Trayvond Denard Ball, 20, of Greenway Cove and Sydney Omar Johnson, 20, of Hwy. 36.

Witnesses pointed out the suspects involved in the shooting and identified their vehicle. CPD officers then stopped teh vehicle, an older blue Ford Crown Victoria, and made the arrests.
