The Covington News is a local news organization serving Newton County as the community newspaper of choice in the community. With an average of more than 100,000 people visiting our website each month and a bi-weekly print publication that is circulated throughout the community, we offer opportunities for everyone.
Internship opportunities with The Covington News provide a chance to experience a reporter's role and be part of a news team working both in print and online. An intern will work closely with the editorial staff to gather news, conduct interviews, write articles and take photographs and video. Interns can expect to have their work published in print and online on a regular basis. An intern's hours are mutually agreed upon by the interns and his or her supervising editor.
The Covington News is happy to accommodate any school requirements to help interns achieve academic credits if the opportunity presents itself.
