Tamela Carol (Hyde) Babcock

Mrs. Tamela Carol (Hyde) Babcock, 49, a longtime resident of Covington, died Dec. 19 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mrs. Babcock was born in Michigan in 1958 and was adopted by her parents William D. and Margie C. Hyde. She worked for the American Legion Post No. 66 in Avondale as manager for six years. Mrs. Babcock enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by father William David Hyde.

Surviving are husband Cliff Babcock Sr.; children Craig Wagner, Angela Wagner, Clifford Babcock Jr., Brandon Babcock; mother Margie Smith Hyde; brothers and sisters Keith Hyde, Kim Newcomb, Jimmy Hyde, Hap Earl Temple, Jack Temple, Todd Temple, James Temple, Troy Temple, Kenneth Temple, Wanda Temple; 12 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and close friends.

The family will receive friends at Wheeler Funeral Home today, Dec. 23, from noon to 2 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Max Clifton officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Best Bank, C/O Cliff Babcock, 3139 U.S. Highway 278, Covington, GA 30014.
