Fans of Lucy's Wings and Things in Newborn will be pleased to know a second restaurant location has opened not far from Georgia Perimeter College.

Lucy's Wings and Restaurant is located at the intersection of Ga. Highway 11 and Ga. Highway 142 next to the BP gas station. Owner Keith Mason said he decided to expand his business there in the hopes of catching through traffic from the college.

"I just knew this area was going to grow a lot," Mason said.

Despite only being 21 years old, this is Mason's second restaurant Mason. He opened his first eatery at the age of 18. Both restaurants are named for his mother Mason said.

Serving wings, chicken tenders, fish and shrimp, salads, sandwiches, cheeseburgers, omelets and pancakes, Lucy's has plenty of menu items to sooth the small-town appetite.

Mason said he is particularly proud of the restaurant's chicken wings which come in mild, medium, hot, extra hot, barbecue, teriyaki, suisaki, spicy barbecue, lemon pepper, zesty lemon pepper and swangin' flavors. Mason said the wing sauce recipes are his own invention.

"People love our wings," Mason said. "I have people come clear across the county for our wings."

Wing orders range in size from a 10-wing order ($6.15) to a 100-wing order ($49.95).

Mason also recommended the restaurant's seafood selection which includes catfish filets, grouper, codfish, fried shrimp and fried oysters.

"They're always fresh, never frozen," said Mason of his fish. "We bread all of our own shrimp, fish and homemade hushpuppies."

Fish and shrimp dishes come with fries and coleslaw and/or hushpuppies. Prices range from $7.25 to $9.25

"You won't find a can opener in the kitchen," Mason promised. "Everything's made from scratch."

Lucy's boasts a variety of sandwiches including apple wood bacon cheeseburgers, Road Island Reds, Po-Boy hoagies, patty melts, Philly cheese steaks and chicken mushroom melts. Sandwiches come with fries and a pickle.

Lucy's also features a children's menu with hot dogs, corn dogs, grilled cheese and chicken tenders. Prices range from $2.65 to $4.98.

Breakfast is served from 6 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Breakfast offerings include toaster sandwiches ($2.89), omelets ($4.50-$4.85), pancakes ($4.25), French toast ($3.85), homemade cathead biscuit sandwiches ($.89-$3.35) and breakfast platters ($3.99-$4.99).

Lunch is served from 10:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. For $7 (including tax) customers can order the Lucy's lunch special which comes with one meat, three veggies, bread and a drink.

On Sundays there is also a turkey and dressing special. Carryout orders are available.
