James Scott Williams, 22, of Oxford, died Sept. 10. Born in Rockdale County in 1984, Mr. Williams was self-employed as a paving and stone contractor and was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He loved cars, motorcycles, hot rods and going to Pigeon Forge to the Rod Run. Family and friends described him as being loving and humble. Mr. Williams was a devoted son, brother and grandson. He was especially devoted to his soul mate Pearlanne.

Surviving are parents Jim and Kathy Williams of Oxford, sisters and brothers-in-law Tricia and Tim Martin of Athens, Jennifer Williams of Orange Park, Fla., Christine and Ken Bernier of Braintree, Mass.; grandparents Stella and Walter Morse of Wrightstown, N.J., companion Pearlanne Denny of Oxford; many uncles and aunts.

A funeral mass was held at 10 a.m. Sept. 13 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Father John C. Kieran officiating.
