Redskins, Tigers reach state

Alcovy picked up two wins in the state duals tournament held at Macon this weekend, while Social Circle claimed a fourth-place finish.

The Tigers, lost to Wheeler in the opening round before of a AAAAAA competing in two matches during the wrestlebacks.

After falling 36-27, Alcovy won from behind against Marietta to move on against North Gwinnett. Again the Tigers found themselves behind; however, this time a comeback wasn't in the cards in a 46-24 loss.

In the Class AA tournament, Social Circle earned a fourth-place finish with two wins.

After taking second place in the AA tournament the Redskins beat Calhoun in the opening round of the state tournament.

Social Circle then beat Lovett in the next round before falling to them a second time to end its run.

The Bulldogs defeated Roswell 33-26 in their first round matchup, before beating North Forsyth 38-21. Rockdale then faced Archer, which went on to win the Class AAAAAA tournament.
Archer defeated Rockdale 66-3.
