Buckhault goes 4 for 4, adds 2 hits

Baseball
Keith Buckhault, Eastside – Buckhault had one hit and one run in Cleveland State’s 7-5 loss in the nightcap of a doubleheader to Southwest Tennessee Community College Saturday. He had a double and an RBI in the day’s first game, a 6-4 CSCC victory.


His biggest game of the series came in the opener Friday, with CSCC winning 8-2. Buckhault was 4 for 4 with two doubles and three RBI.

Softball
Amanda Henderson, Eastside – Kennesaw State won its fourth and fifth straight games Wednesday in a doubleheader with Furman in Greenville, S.C. Henderson pitched all seven innings in the first game, a 4-3 victory, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out seven.

Golf
Taylor Smith, Eastside – After two rounds of the Southeastern Collegiate, Georgia College is in fourth place behind an even par first round and one-over 73 second performance from Smith.

Basketball
Stephen Croone, Newton – Furman lost 74-60 Saturday in the quarterfinals of the Southern Conference tournament. Croone had nine points, five steals and five assists in the Paladins’ season finale. Friday, Furman upset the tournament’s fifth seed Samford 55-51. Croone had 11 points in the victory, snapping a 10 game losing skid for the Paladins.

Jamon Hawkins, Newton – Hawkins had 15 points in Georgia Southwestern’s Peach Belt Conference Tournament quarterfinals 84-72 loss to UNC Pembroke Friday. Hawkins finished his junior year as the Hurricanes’ leading scorer.

Worrel Clahar, Alcovy – In his final game at Allstate Arena, Clahar scored 19 points to tie a career high in DePaul’s 81-66 loss to No. 20 Pittsburgh Saturday. His stellar game came after playing 13 minutes and scoring one point in DePaul’s 78-57 loss to Syracuse March 6.
