WILEY-FAMILY-WEB

For 95 years, the Wiley family's General Store has sold Social Circle and the surrounding communities the items of daily life.

The store survived the Great Depression of the 1930s and numerous unforgettable world events. Located in downtown Social Circle, the store opened its doors in December of 1919 and has been in business ever since.

But after nearly a century, it will close its doors on December 31, 2014 leaving behind a legacy in this small town. It will reopen under the new ownership of Mike Owens.

The mayor of Social Circle presented a plaque to Elizabeth Wiley, Dorothy Wiley Parker and Fred Wiley in honor of their standing in the community and the store's role in the history of the town.
