Recreation champion: Wheeler Park, off of Parker Road, was dedicated to former Commissioner Norman Wheeler in a ceremony on May 17. Wheeler thanked the hard working employees of the Parks and Recreation division and thanked former Recreation Department Head Linda Evans. Parks and Recreation and Senior Services Director Jackie Lunsford described Wheeler as "a true champion for recreation in Rockdale County for over 45 years."
