Valedictorian Patricia Murphy Higher Education: Georgia Institute of Technology Course of Study: Public policy/ bio-molecular engineering On being named valedictorian: "I didn't expect it all. In Magnet, it's not just your own thing; it's a team thing. I got lucky because everyone worked just has hard as I did."
This year, young ladies have claimed the top academic spots at Rockdale County Magnet School for Science and Technology. Patricia Murphy has been named valedictorian and Kathryn Johnson has been named salutatorian. Both Murphy and Johnson have attended the school since 9th grade, taking classes such as microbiology, organic chemistry and mathematics technology and problem solving.
