A town hall meeting on whether the county should allow Sunday sales of retail alcohol will be held Tuesday, Nov. 1, 6 p.m. at the JP Carr Community Center.

The meeting will be held after a public hearing on the county's 2012 general fund budget, at 5 p.m., and before the Board of Commissioners work session, at 7 p.m.

According to Elections Supervisor Cynthia Welch, the county would need approve a resolution to call for the ballot question by Nov. 13 in order to put the question on the March 6 ballot, along with the presidential preference primary in 2012.

Earlier, the board of commissioners indicated they were in favor of putting the question on the March 6 ballot.
