The National Weather Service issued a significant weather advisory at 2:50 p.m.

Wind gusts of 45 mph are likely as this storm moves across Newton, Rockdale and Walton counties through 3:15 pm EDT. Some locations in the path of the storm include Oak Hill, Rocky Plains, Almon, Georgia International Horse Park, Lakeview Estates, Milstead, Conyers, Porterdale, Oxford, Covington, Big Haynes Creek Park, Starrsville, Gum Creek, Youth and Walnut Grove.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City issued a Tornado Warning for Rockdale, DeKalb, Clayton, and Henry  counties until 2:45 p.m.

A wide swath across northeast Georgia is under a Tornado Watch.
