Salem theater earns 9 awards nominations (April 6, 2011)
The musical RENT comes to life as Salem High School's theater stages the high school version of the Broadway hit from April 14-17.
Based on the story of Puccini's "La Boeheme," RENT follows the lives of struggling young artists and their friends in Manhattan's gritty lower East Side under the shadow of the AIDS/HIV epidemic.
Under the direction of Pete Talton, the experienced Salem cast belts out recognizable hits such as "Seasons of Love" and "One Song Glory."
Performances are on April 14, 15, 16, and 17 at 7:30 p.m. with matinee showings on April 16 and 17 at 2:30 p.m.
