IN BRIEF: The Rockdale County school board approved the ability to modify the calendar for budget cuts but did not yet change the calendar for the 2011-2012 school year, pending more information gathering, at their meeting Thursday night. Chief Financial Officer Lee Davis said a recommended calendar option would likely be brought to the school board's work session and meeting in May. Chief Academic Officer Rich Autry said there were 1901 responses to the online survey posted on the Rockdale County Public Schools website, which was live April 15-20, with 417 comments/suggestions.
