Rahl Toombs Smith, Jr., 76, of Peachtree City, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 31, at his residence.
Mr. Smith was born in Macon, Georgia on January 16, 1937. He was the son of Rahl Toombs Smith, Sr. and Carmel Joyner Smith. Rahl Smith was Director, Business and Community Services at Georgia Piedmont Technical College in Covington. He worked in Human Resources for 50 years earning his SPHR certification and other accreditations. He was of the Baptist faith, served his country in the United States Naval Reserves, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #26 in Griffin.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Nancy D. Smith; daughter, Renee Smith Allen and her husband Glen; son, Rahl T. Smith, III and his wife Melissa; grandson Rahl T. Smith, IV and his wife Holly; grandson, Travis Allen Smith; sister, Barbara Wright and her husband Clay; sister-in-law, Jean Martin and her husband, Bruce; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation for Mr. Rahl T. Smith, Jr. will be on Wednesday, September 4, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home in Griffin. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 5, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury. Reverend Bruce E. Martin and Reverend Bryan Martin will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
