Dads, it’s time to take your daughters out for a night of glitz and glamour as Rockdale Rotary’s sixth annual Father Daughter Ball returns Feb. 4, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Rockdale Career Academy.

This year’s ball will be all class, with a little jazz thrown in. Think top hats, white gloves, flapper dresses as this year’s theme, “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” evokes the elegance and fun of the Roaring Twenties.

Rockdale Rotary Club president David Cooper said this was great venue for a father to do something with his daughter. “Dads need a way to take his daughter out and spend time with just her, and this is the vehicle to do it.” Girls that attended last year were already asking when they could go again, he said.

“They are going to be enchanted with the decorations,” said Sara Coleman, one of the event organizers who said she was inspired by the theme from her daughter’s dance recital.

Tickets are $45 for adults, $35 for the first daughter and $25 for each additional daughter. Daughters that register by Jan. 20 will have their names included on the commemorative T-shirt.

Dinner will be prepared by Rockdale Career Academy culinary arts students and a band will provide the music.

Attendees will also receive souvenirs and photographs to commemorate the night will be included in the price of the ticket.

Coleman said it’s an event that all dads should do with their daughters. “It is a connection that the daughters will always remember with their dads.”
