Get ready to paint the town... pink? That's right; the streets of Olde Town will flood with pink-drenched walkers and their animal companions as the second annual Pink Pooch Parade takes over on Sunday, Oct. 5., 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
The route starts and ends at the Olde Town pavilion and winds through familiar main roads.
This growing parade supports the fight against breast cancer by donating proceeds to the Pink Patriots, a walking team determined to make it to the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer. The brilliant colors and joyful attitude of the walkers help keep the focus on positivity while still bringing attention to their cause.
Anyone can register to join in the party, and the entire community is invited to participate.
Have your pet professionally dyed, craft them a flouncy tutu, paint your face, or get wildly creative and build a float of your own. March proudly alongside local cheerleaders, boy scouts, girl scouts, a pink pony, and a Facebook-elected Grand Marshall pup in a stylish convertible.
After the parade, you can hang around for the Pink Poodle Parade festival. You can chow down on delectable food truck fare and treats for your four-legged friends from a one-of-a-kind dog bakery before you delve into some arts and crafts or compete in the raffle.
