Opening a new Verizon store

The Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on Sept. 23 for the opening of the Verizon Wireless store on 1830 Ga. Highway 20, near the intersection with Flat Shoals Rd.

The store is the fifth for the Wireless Communications company in Georgia, which also has stores in Monroe, Winder, and soon in Athens. There are 23 stores overall in the South Carolina-based company.

Regional Director of Sales Minal Patel, a Rockdale native and Salem Class of 2002 graduate, said, “We’ve been looking at Conyers for a while. When this location became available, we jumped on it. It’s the biggest store in our company.”

The Conyers location will be the regional headquarters and will have 10-15 personnel, in addition to sales floor personnel, working out of the location. Plans are in place to have 10 stores in Georgia by the end of the year.

The Conyers retail location will be offering different fall specials throughout October.

Readers who mention this Rockdale News article can get a $20 off their phone, depending on the device, and 15 percent off accessories.

“We’d like to get to know the community and let them know we’re the hometown store,” said Patel.

Store hours are 9 a.m. – 8 p.m., Monday – Saturday, and noon-5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call (770) 922-6484.
