An 80-year-old Conyers couple was found killed in an apparent murder-suicide on Sunday.

Around 4 p.m., Conyers police received a call of a suicide at 986 Highland Circle. Their son had discovered them at the house and called first responders.

However, once officers arrived at the home, "it was evident at the scene it was a murder-suicide," said Conyers Police Department Investigator and spokesperson Kim Lucas. The CPD criminal investigations unit and the Rockdale County Coroner's Office also came to process the scene.

The 80-year-old man and woman, who were the only residents of the home, were identified as Jack and Sharon Lamb.

There were no signs of a struggle, said Lucas, and the couple was reportedly found in the bedroom, next to each other. The shooting had been carried out with a revolver.

There was no reported history of domestic violence reports nor mental health issues, according to Lucas, and no note was reported as being left in the residence.

This is the first homicide of the year for Conyers police.
